Facebook Messenger Now Lets You Send High Quality Videos

Earlier this year, Facebook introduced the ability to share 4K photos within Messenger. The company is now introducing the ability to HD videos within Messenger. The latest update to its Messenger apps will allow users to share 720p videos from their phone with people on Messenger, but you still can’t share higher quality videos. 720p videos is a step forward for sure, but it is nowhere close to 4K videos.

Messenger is also getting support for 360-degree photos today. Facebook is introducing a new feature that allows Messenger to automatically convert your panorama pictures to 360-degree photos and view it with an immersive viewing experience. The feature isn’t only for panorama pictures, so if you have a fancy phone or camera that can take “native” 360-degree photos, you’ll be able to make use of those, too.

Facebook is rolling out these new features today, starting with 360-degree photos for all users on iOS and Android. HD quality videos are, however, only available in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UK and the US.
