Twitter Finally Makes Use of the iPad’s Screen Space

iPads have gotten really big as of late. Apple’s iPad Pro devices are almost the same size as some mainstream laptops, but a lot of the iPad apps don’t really make use of that screen real estate that well.

One of those apps was Twitter for iOS, which didn’t make good use of the screen space that you get on Apple’s iPads, especially on devices like the iPad Pro.

Well, that’s changing now. Twitter is releasing a new update to Twitter for iPad with a new interface that finally makes use of the screen real state on the iPad. The new interface was first reported by Applesfera.

The new Twitter for iPad update introduces a multi-column view that shows more information than before. The updated interface is identical to Twiter’s web app, so there’s now a sidebar that shows things like trends, people to follow, etc. The menu bar has now been moved to the left as well.

Functionality wise, the Twitter for iPad app remains the same, so don’t expect any major new features. The updated interface is definitely more useful, but it still won’t give you the power of apps like TweetDeck on your expensive new iPad Pro.
