Firefox 150 Arrives With Over 270 More Fixes, Plus New Features

Mozilla’s partnership with Anthropic is really paying off. In March, it announced that Anthropic’s Frontier Red Team had helped it find and fix 22 security-sensitive bugs and 90 other bugs in Firefox. But this month’s bounty is even bigger: Firefox 150 is out today with fixes for 271 vulnerabilities.

“Our experience is a hopeful one for teams who shake off the vertigo and get to work,” Mozilla chief technology officer Bob Holley writes. “You may need to reprioritize everything else to bring relentless and single-minded focus to the task, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. We are extremely proud of how our team rose to meet this challenge, and others will too. Our work isn’t finished, but we’ve turned the corner and can glimpse a future much better than just keeping up. Defenders finally have a chance to win, decisively.”

In addition to the security fixes, Firefox 150 also includes:

Split View improvements. You can now right-click any link and choose “Open Link in Split View” or right-click a tab in Split View and choose “Reverse Tabs.”

Share multiple tabs. You can now share multiple tabs by selecting them, right-clicking, and choosing Share > Copy x links. When you paste elsewhere, you will see the page title and URL for each tab.

PDF editor improvements. Firefox’s built-in PDF editor can now reorder, copy, paste, delete, and export pages in a PDF.

Real-time private translations. You can test real-time private translations by navigating to about:translations or by using the translate quick-action shortcut in the Address bar.

Web apps in the Microsoft Store version of Firefox. The Microsoft Store version of Firefox now supports web apps like the web-installed version.

Profiles improvements. Profiles are available to all users, including those using Windows 10, and you can back up a profile to file now.

VPN expands to Canada. Firefox’s free VPN is now available in Canada in addition to France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and United States.
