Google Expands Studio Bot to Over 170 Countries

Google Studio Bot

Google announced that it has brought its Studio Bot AI-powered coding assistant for Android Studio to over 170 countries.

“Studio Bot can accelerate your ability to write high-quality Android apps faster by helping generate code for your app, answering your questions, finding relevant resources— all without ever having to leave Android Studio,” the announcement post explains. “After our announcement, you told us how excited you were about this AI-powered coding companion, and those of you outside of the U.S. were eager to get your hands on it. We heard your feedback, and expanded Studio Bot to over 170 countries in the canary release channel of Android Studio.”

Google announced Studio Bot at Google I/O back in May. It’s an AI-powered conversational experience that’s based on Codey, Google’s foundation model for coding, and a descendant of PaLM 2. It can be used to generate code, answer questions about Android development, and help fix errors in your existing code, all within Android Studio.

As you might expect, Studio Bot is still a way off from general consumption. It’s available now only in Android Studio Canary, which is the furthest out version currently in development, behind the Stable, Beta, and Dev channels.

With this update, Studio Bot is available in a lot more countries, but it’s still only in English. You can learn more on the Android Developer website.
