Your discussion about why Intel didn’t win the PS6 bid possibly didn’t consider one other issue. The chip also has an iGPU and I don’t think that Intel’s GPU is up to snuff yet, and that would pose performance issues as well as probably significant backward compatibility issues. Also, usually the chip selected has GPU features that are yet to be released, so that when the console lands it’s still somewhat compatible with the then current GPU in PCs. Right now in GPU, Intel is still trying to catch up to the last generation (Nvidia 4th gen) in capability, and so I don’t think they could sell their skill as competitive with an unknown future.
