AI slop controversy at Ars Technica

It’s a crazy story that started with an AI hallucinating a hit piece, then MORE AI hallucinating quotations in a (once?) respected publication.

It’s not the Skynet caricature that pro-AI people trot out to mock that worries me, it’s this kind of bull?. Even from just reading from the outside it’s exhausting having to second guess everything everywhere. I’m seriously over this junk.
