Zuck took on the law and the law won…

I like Facepalm’s response, the documents are sealed in a US court, so the UK can’t see them… Nope, it doesn’t work like that, a US district court has no say over what another country can do on its sovereign soil.

While that is true they should respect the US court and not release the information publicly. If they do release it publicly it will just go to show that the UK is just trying to damage Facebook's reputation. It will also damage the justice system here in the US. The only reason that person had the information was because of a lawsuit where he was not supposed to disclose this information. He did so now he will probably be sued by Facebook and Facebook will probably win.

That said this CEO is an idiot for bringing those documents with him while traveling abroad.

Facepaln only have themselves to blame.

As to not publishing the information, that will be difficult, given that it is a transparent, public hearing.

In reply to wright_is:

I wouldn't want to appear either. If they wanted to get to the bottom of it they would request the product managers to appear. Do you really think Mark knows every little detail about what's going on? Facebook has 33,000 employees. Of course Mark doesn't know everything that's going on.

They should of required Facebook to hand over the information instead of stealing it from a third party who might get in trouble for handing it over.
