Chrome now forces 2023 refresh

As of Friday it looks like chromium-based browsers are ignoring the “disabled” flag and forcing the 2023 refresh on users. At least that is true on Brave and vanilla Chromium. I refuse to install Google Chrome on my PCs.

While I do not hate the refresh and I do not want to be the get off my lawn and never change my browser UI guy….I prefer the older look. One reason I prefer Firefox/Waterfox is the ability to customize the look and feel of the browser as the user sees fit. If you are willing to play around in config and sideload old extensions, you can make Firefox look and feel much the way it did 15 years ago. (Not recommended, but it’s good the option is there.)

Any thoughts or opinions on the refresh or the reason why we can’t decline it? I know. Much easier to maintain one code base, etc. Any other reason?
