Regarding Manifest v.3

I was just watching yesterday’s ‘Security Now’ with Steve Gibson on Twit. He had a rather lengthy discussion about Manifest v.3 and how it will disable uBlock Origin in Chrome. I don’t know anyone (except Google) that would be in favor of this, but it sounds like Google is going ahead with its plans. He also indicated that all Chromium based browsers would be “vulnerable” to this. I am an Edge user but if Microsoft goes through with this, I will be switching browsers.

The main reason I have stuck with Edge is because of the Bing points but they are not worth having to endure all the ads that I would have to see. I asked Copilot about this, and it confirmed Microsoft’s plans to switch to Manifest v3 although it said that Microsoft would be implementing it in January 2024, which is obviously out of date.

For myself, I will be switching to Firefox because it’s the best alternative that is not based on Chromium. I wanted to let people know about Steve Gibson’s podcast and wondered what others felt about Manifest v.3
