Buying a new laptop – what should I do?

Hi all,

Looking to get some suggestions on what to do here. I had an Asus Vivobook S15 Snapdragon X Elite Copilot+ PC, and I have loved it! However it developed a fault where it would lock up, overheat and then the fans sound like a Chinook helicopter. It has been with Asus for a month and they have today informed me that it cannot be repaired so I will get a full refund. Based in the UK, so that is £1,000 ($1350 USD) back in my pocket ready to spend on something else.

To be clear, I cannot fault Asus at all and would gladly buy another device from this brand. Their customer service team have been amazing and I would recommend them in the future.

So, anyway, I am aware that the Snapdragon event in Hawaii is just around the corner. I am in no urgent rush to replace the device at the moment. I can make do with my work machine (Dell Precision 5690 with an Intel Core Ultra 7).

But….. what should I wait out for? What would YOU do?

Eager to hear your suggestions!
