NUC Knockoff

found on Amazon – a NUC like computer for $170. I am thinking it may be a better PLEX host than my ARM Synology which does not have enough oomph to transcode.

Cannot post a link but search for…

Mini PC Intel Celeron J3455 6GB DDR4, 128 GB SATA SSD, Mini Desktop Computer with Windows 10 Pro, Quad Core, Dual Gigabit Ethernet NIC, Dual HDMI, 5X USB3.0, 4K UHD, Bluetooth, AWOW AK34 Micro PC

Check out the brand Minisforums, they’re another maker of nice mini PCs, and you can get them with actually beefy CPUs. Intel Core and AMD Ryzen silicon.

Just curious, are you trying to stream HD or 4K video? I have the cheapest Synology they make (which I slapped a 2 TB hard drive I had laying around into), but I have to admit I’ve only been using it to watch my ripped collection of standard def DVDs.

Still, I love the thing. It’s taken the place of at least a couple of cloud services I used to use.
