I recently bought a NUC-like computer with an Intel N100 processor for ~$180. It came with 16 GB of RAM, 500GB M.2 SSD, two ethernet ports, and a slot for an additional SATA drive.
I originally bought the computer to use as a home router and other home lab services. Instead I’ve been using it as a PC connected to my TV for browsing the web and watching videos from my couch. The performance is surprisingly good and most importantly it is silent.
I’ve lost interest in the Raspberry Pi since this N100 PC has exceeded my expectations with better memory, better IO, is low power, cheap, and is silent.
