Surface not an option, need a 2 n 1 for note taking

After Paul recommended a Surface for my daughter that is heading to college soon, I was set to get it. I had her spend some time with one, but she hated the keyboard. She usually works in bed or with the laptop on her lap and the keyboard was giving her issues. I looked for other Snapdragon 2 n 1 options but had difficulty finding any.

I guess the question is what 2 n 1 would be a good option with good pen support for note taking? I know nothing about stylus options and want to make sure I can get her something that works reliably and is not frustrating. The transaction to college can be hard enough without the added stress of your computer not working. She wants one device to do it all but I’m starting to wonder if she’d be better off getting an iPad for note taking and a computer for everything else. Any thought or alternative ideas are welcome.
