Thurrott Marketplace

What about creating a marketplace forum on Thurrott.com, where members (could be a premium thing or open to everyone) could buy, sell, or swap hardware (but also maybe software, swag…whatever)? It seems like this audience would probably have a shared interest in a lot of gadgets. The site wouldn’t have to handle any of the transactions, but it could be a neat way to leverage the relationships here to connect enthusiasts with each other and generate a market for obscure Microsoft-centric or just general technology stuff. Thoughts?

That would be really neat, and were I BlueWhaleWeb I would not want to take on that liability in a million years.

In reply to brad-sams:

That’s understandable. Plus, there’s now a myriad ways to connect with other like-minded enthusiasts to swap stuff. I’m on Facebook Marketplace pretty regularly, and I’ve picked up a used Xbox consoles, cameras, and other hardware. EBay is still pretty reliable, especially for a lot of the older stuff. At the very least, if anyone has a favorite board where they find some of the more obscure Microsoft stuff, let me know. Thanks!

Eh, maybe not buy/sell/swap with other members, but I think a Thurrott.com store would be cool if I could buy one of those cool coffee mugs or some other swag.
