LIFX sold to Feit Electric

As reported by The Verge, innovative smart light company, LIFX, or at least their parent company, Lifi Labs, has been acquired by Feit Electric.

As a die-hard LIFX fan and owner of over 40 of their smart light products, I’m feeling a little heartburn over this news. I originally started collecting LIFX bulbs back in 2016, and mostly because at tha time, they were one of the few brands that supported Cortana as well as other assistants. And they had a decent Windows app.

Feit claims they will continue to innovate and support the LIFX brand and their customers. I’m going to be skeptical. I’ve owned a couple of Feit bulbs over the years, and I’ve found them to be extremely cheap and unreliable. Maybe LIFX is their upscale market play. Time will tell.
