Should MS Rename Office Apps? Open "Mobile" Apps?

Two part question:

Should MS rename the current Office mobile apps to just Excel, Word, etc… and then let anyone create documents with them?

Then, the Office 2019 apps would be renamed to Excel Pro, Word Pro, etc?

Paul often comments on how there are too many apps with the same or similar names. So I’m trying to think of a good way of keeping people in the Office sphere of apps, possibily without an O365 subscription and also making a simple deliniation between apps that are best for the most users (formerly mobile apps) and apps that are used in a professional capacity (renamed “pro” apps).

What are your thoughts?

I doubt anyone buys Office 365 just to use the mobile versions of Office programs. The simplest names (Excel, Word, etc) should be attached to the programs most people are willing to pay more to use, and the other versions for which few would pay nearly as much to use would get saddled with longer or maybe even other names.

However, now there are many different versions just for Windows.

Office 2016 Home & Student

Office 2016 Home & Business

Office 2016 Standard

Office 2016 Professional

Office 2016 Professional Plus

Office 365 Personal

Office 365 Home

several commercial Office 365 Business alternatives

Office 365 Home — packaged versions through the MSFT Store

Office Mobile (UWP) through the MSFT Store

Office web apps

Of all of these, with almost no Windows phones still being made and almost no tablets running Windows 10 Mobile, the Office Mobile apps would be the least used under Windows. Even including related Android and iOS versions, I figure there'd still be at least 3 times more Office users using desktop Windows versions combined that all mobile versions combined. Let the greatest number of users use the simplest name. Also, FWLIW, there's no difference whatsoever between Excel in Home*, Standard, Pro, Pro Plus, 365* (non-Store) SKUs. It may not work well to have Excel Pro in both Standard and Professional SKUs.

tl;dr — No.
