Did Paul’s rant on WW remind anyone of the book Year Zero?

I read the book a few years ago but I minor part of it was basically that Bill Gates was an alien put on earth to stifle innovation and slow down the earths technological progress. I thought some of what Paul was saying was similar (not the alien part) about where could we potentially be now if Microsoft didn’t kill off someone smaller companies during that point in time. Anyway, not a bad book if you are looking for a light read and enjoy off beat humor.
