Thurrott.com cpu cycles spike

Has anyone else noticed that opening Thurrott.com in Chrome (even with all extensions disabled) causes CPU usage to dramatically increase? Visiting the forums spikes it from 5-10% to around 40-50%. Any other page jumps to 70-80%. I’m monitoring traffic – no real increase in traffic. I haven’t started doing any javascript profiling yet. Just curious if anyone has this same problem.

Not seeing any spike myself, but maybe Thurrott has resorted to monetizing with a hidden cryptominer in the page?
