New PC Update

Three weeks ago I posted that I was getting a New PC[desktop]. Without going into details about that post, I did want to tell that my New PC is wonderful.

It has Windows 11 Pro, 32Gbs RAM, a relatively small form factor[not Mac Mini size but maybe 11x13x4]. It is called a LENOVO 10ST002FUS ThinkCentre M720s with a 3.10 gigahertz Intel Core i9-9900 and a 2TB SSD. I got it on Amazon from folks that ‘renew’ PCs. Now I do not have to worry about October 2025 with my two older Windows 10 PCs[they will be Linux a year from now].

I had trouble with: 1. looking at huge Word files with photos, 2. Photo editing of large 100MB photo files, and 3. working on a database.

Now, nothing gets held up by animation, there is zero freezing, I am able to just visit huge Word files and there is no push back. I have not had a chance to photo edit or to work on my database, but the Word files were the most demanding of the bunch. So I think I am OK!

I am going to install a KVM switch and connect my PCs together in a Beowulf Cluster, cannot wait! If anyone is interested I can explain. If not, no biggie!
