Arc and Innovation

After hearing the talk about Arc I decided to give it a try. I didn’t want to wait to get the Windows version so I downloaded it on my Mac. I’ve spent probably about an hour with it and it’s OK. I don’t think it’s that innovative. Sure it moved some things around and do have some innovations around the tabs and such. To me though visually it really reminds me of some of the sample iPad apps I’ve seen in Apple’s developer documents. Ironically the iPad is one of the places it’s not available.

I then watched the video on how they are bringing Arc to Windows. Now that is where there is huge innovation. If they put out the UI stuff they are working on to match Swift to WinUI and make Swift and add Windows to all of Apple’s devices that use Swift it paves the way for Apple developer to easily port their apps to Windows.
