What is that on my taskbar?

Today, I noticed Microsoft updated the Windows Store icon, to something more colorful!

    <p>Actually, yeah … I noticed that too. I could have sworn Paul was talking about it recently that it would be updated to this new icon soon.</p>

    <p>So flat design is out and colour is back. It looks out of place, and adds to the confused UI design style.</p>

Everything becomes dated and cheesy within 3 years. OTOH, that means confusion is a repeating theme.</p><p>If you've ever seen the movie <em>The Nightmare before Christmas</em>, MSFT figuring out UI design is a lot like Jack Skellington trying to figure out Christmas.</p>
