The most radical and shocking release in Windows history!

Scrapping the traditional start menu and introducing a start screen with modern apps!

Despite it’s shortcomings, it had noticable under the hood performance improvement. Also improved security features too!

I jumped on the Windows 8 bandwagon on launch day. It wasn’t a horrible overall experience. It was definitely a shock coming from Windows 7 at the time.

Windows 8.1 improved upon many of 8’s shortfalls. Including boot to desktop and bringing back the beloved start button!
