Chromebook & iPad power off

I’ve just sat my Chromebooks Asus C302C) on top of my iPad Pro and the Chromebook screen shut off. I picked up the Chromebook and the screen came back on, sit it down and its off again.

Any ideas what is causing this odd behaviour?

Think its the magnet on the iPad/case, as it seems to depend on where in the iPad I place the Chromebook. Think I'm going to stop doing that now, lol.

It's likely engaging the sensor in the Chromebook. There's probably a magnet in the lid.

Yep, magnets. It thinks you've closed the lid.
