TWIG Has Interesting Insight On Googles Fitbit Purchase

I was catching up on TWIG over the weekend and Stacy and Leo said the purchase of Fitbit is part because Google is trying to look at new ways to track people and target advertising on iOS due to the new security restraints that Apple is putting into place. With Fitbit connected to iPhone they can see geolocation and other metrics to target ads since Apple is forcing them to make a security popup in the new iOS updates coming up. I know wearos has never been a real success and we know Google does tracking but this seems like a big purchase and a lot of work is going into Google not wanting a security popup on an iOS device.

I wouldn't put it past them… Except, isn't one of the conditions of the sale that FitBit will not be able to share its data with Google?

That's explicitly not true, since Google has already assured regulators in the US and EU that will never do that exact thing.
