Having trouble getting Outlook contacts in Android phone app

Hi all,

I tried to follow Paul’s guide to getting contacts in the Android phone dialer, but it doesn’t seem to work anymore. I downloaded Outlook, and I added my Outlook account as an Exchange account in Android, and the dialer app still won’t find my contacts from Outlook. Has anyone tried this recently with Android 7 (on an Xperia)? Is there another guide I can try?

yeah, you do not need to do an exchange account or anything else like that. Instead, in the Outlook app click the settings gear in the upper right. Select your account. Turn on the "Sync contacts.

Why this is not set by default or a prompt when installing is beyond me.

It's like Microsoft never actually does user feedback on setup and install.

I was wrong. You still do need an exchange account in order to sync contact FROM android back up to your outlook365 account. But you most definitely do need to turn on the "sync contacts" slider in outlook as well.
