Pixel and BlueTooth problems with large number of cars

A large number of different makes and models of cars are having problems making or keeping a connection to the new Pixel phones.  The problem seems to be with Android 7.1.  Here is a support thread if anyone is interested

When asking Verizon, I was basically told that the phone is not guaranteed to work with any car and that I should have tested it with my car before buying.  Seems kind of hard to do when ordering online but wanted to see what other people think about this.  Shouldn’t it be reasonable to expect that a new phone would work with the bluetooth in newer cars?

I can still return the phone since I’m inside of 14 days but will have to pay a restocking fee.

Interesting. Fortunately my Pixel XL works flawlessly with my Audi A6.

Glad it is working for you.  Looks like a lot of Chevy's are having problems but some Subaru, Honda, Mazda, Kia, BMW, and Telsas are having problems.  Some of the newer Audi A3s were reported as not working also.  If nothing else I wanted this post to be a heads up to people looking at getting a Pixel.  I originally was going to get a S7, but was able to get the Pixel though Verizon for $200 less on a promotion.  Wish I hadn't now.

Never had as much trouble with Bluetooth as I have with my iPhone. I suspect chipset compatibility is just a thing, unfortunately.
