I’ve seen a ton of forum posts about this but no solutions. I’m hoping someone here has figured something out.
I have a lot of PNG files with transparent backgrounds. When I view the file thumbnail in Windows Explorer it looks fine. However, if I copy the PNG file to a OneDrive-synced folder, the transparent background turns black. It’s insanely annoying as many of my PNGs have a black foreground, so in OneDrive folders all I see in Windows Explorer are a bunch of black rectangles.
This issue has existed for at least 8 years based on the forum posts I’m reading, but I can’t believe such a silly issue has been allowed to exist for that long without some kind of update or workaround.
My current workaround is to not use OneDrive. Google Drive and Dropbox do not have this issue.
