Upgrade Home to Pro: OneDrive/BitLocker questions

I’m a home user not an IT pro.

I am looking for a new laptop.

The HP OmniBook Ultra Paul favourably reviewed can only be bought in UK with W11 Home – I have checked with HP.

I need W11 Pro for BitLocker to Go.

I realise I could upgrade to Pro but in addition to not needing the hassle (due to long term health issues) I had a couple of specific questions.

1) If I buy with Home it will automatically make OneDrive the default file directories. I don’t really use OneDrive much (C Drive sufficient plus external backups). If I upgrade to Pro will it still automatically default Documents etc to OneDrive directories?

2) Home edition will enable BitLocker if I sign in with MSA (which I would). What happens to this when upgrade to Pro? I would normally turn on BitLocker myself if using Pro but it would already be on there with Home – but as I understand from Paul’s book the Home version of BitLocker is different?

Not sure if I have explained that well.

Reading all this makes me wonder if I should just pay up for AMD Thinkpad T14s Paul is about to review but would be approx $600 more and I think the processor is less capable (although it has more ports).
