Microsoft is more valuable than Apple and Google

Not that any of this matters to most tech fans, but I remember hearing to lots of fanfare how Apple and Google exceeded MS in Mkt Cap.

As of right now:

MSFT: 747.66 B

GOOGL: 713.18 B

AAPL: 674.75 B

Right. Like who is the richest person in the world, it doesn't really matter.

These are just market valuations, so pretty pointless in most respects. They almost change daily too. Nice to see Apple crashing though – it was only a matter of time…

For a company like MS that have made so many mistakes though, shooting themselves in the foot, losing market share, mobile disasters, Win10 problems etc, this valuation seems strange. I'd say they're worth $50 tops.

Didn't Apple break the trillion dollar mark earlier this year? If that is the case, their stock has dropped nearly 40% from the peak. That is a lot of money.

Also isn't amazon in there above apple too?

It keeps fluctuating. In Apple's case they need to diversify beyond the iPhone as their primary source of income. The Chinese market is a major cause of their drop with respect to iPhone sales.

And Amazon is 810.02B ;-)

Microsoft is the most diverse of the major tech companies, as they've found an excellent revenue stream outside of Windows – appears that was the plan for Nadella the entire time, and it's starting to pay off. It's mind boggling how well they've weathered the bad decisions from the Ballmer era and still doing so well.

I quote [someone] who said (of Apple being a one trick (iPhone) pony)…

"When the iPhone sneezes, Apple gets a cold"
