My 27 year-old son alerted me to this talk given by Charles Petzold in 2005 where he speaks about IntelliSense in Visual Studio.
“…the more I despise it, the more I use it, and the more I use it, the more disgusted I am at how addicted I’ve gotten, and the more addicted I get, the more I wish it had never been invented…And I think it’s making us dumber.”
The relevance to AI invading the life of a developer in 2025 makes the first half of this article worth reading.
