Decoder Interview with Phil Spencer

The latest episode of the Decoder podcast has Phil Spencer as the guest (transcript should be on The Verge today).

There are several great topics here. There is discussion about gaming’s role in the Microsoft organization, Game Pass living alongside existing methods of accessing games, and of course the ABK acquisition.

Most notable, Phil and Nilay discuss the part of ABL that Microsoft really wants. Everyone is talking Call of Duty but mobile gaming is where Microsoft will see the most benefit.

Great interview. It is well worth listening if you are interested in Microsoft’s gaming business.
