Red Dead Redemption 2 – Should I buy an Xbox Controller?

4

So… I purchased Red Dead Redemption 2 for the PC today. I plan to relocate my PC to my home theater on the weekends to play RDR2 during the holiday season. My question is this… If I buy an Xbox controller will it provide the same Experience for the PC version that it does on the Xbox? Does anyone have any experience with using an Xbox controller on a PC and/or any suggestions for optimizing my experience? Thanks in Advance.

It should work exactly the same. However, one of the advantages of playing on pc is that you can use mouse and keyboard which is much more precise for aiming. If you wish to use the controller why not just the xbox?

I can't see the point of XBox or Playstation, Not when I have a gaming PC that is faster. The vast majority of console games are short and not very good. This was the only title that I want to play, and now I can.

The point is to play AAA games without having to buy an expensive gaming pc. If you already have one, it makes no sense of course. I would still suggest that you try playing RDR2 with mouse and keyboard instead of controller. You will probably never go back.

Controller just makes games more uncomfortable, i think. If i were you i'd play on keyboard and mouse. But if you have quite good pc, experience will be the same.
