Xbox Avatar Editor Going Away

I just got a pop-up message in the Xbox app that the Xbox Avatar Editor app will no longer be available on Xbox after the first of the year. Did anyone else get that notice?

It’s certainly disappointing, as I found it to be a really great tool for building a snazzy, customizable avatar for myself and my family members over the years. I always felt like they should have done a lot more with it, such as allowed you to use your avatar in arcade games (like the handful of Xbox 360 games that supported the classic avatars). They could also have leveraged them for more of a social experience inside the Xbox community.

Here’s hoping that they have a whiz-bang AI based avatar system on the horizon to replace it,
