Apparently Surface Book 2 15" does have a cheaper Core i5 variant?

After calling two Microsoft stores and asking them if they have the base-level SB2 15″ both employees confusingly said they haven’t received stock of some unlisted 15″ Core i5 version yet. Two separate MS employees referenced this cheaper 15-inch Core i5 version.

I verbally confirmed MULTIPLE times they were talking about the 15″ GTX 1060 version, and they both said yes and that they will receive stock of some core i5 version at some point soon.

Does anybody have any information about this? I was under the impression that the 15″ versions all came with i7…
