Microsoft – Surface Laptop Studio – Intel Core i5 with 16GB Memory worth it for $550?

Looking for a laptop for my daughter for college and found an open box Surface Laptop for $550 that seems like a great deal. I think the difference between the 11th and 12th gen cpu is significant though and wasn’t sure if it would still be worth it as old as it is. She wants something with a pen so that limits the options a little. Thanks
