Surface Pro 8 LTE not built on the Evo platform?

Hi,

About to buy the Surface Pro 8 LTE, but read the following on the Microsoft website:

  • i5 and i7 Wi-Fi options with storage 256GB and above built on the Intel® Evo platform. i3 and LTE options not included

Does this mean the Surface Pro 8 LTE is not built on the Evo platform?

    So that is a very interesting example of truth in advertising.


    Evo isn't so much a platform as it is a set of promises. They must meet certain performance characteristics. Achieve a certain level of real-world battery life. Etc.


    My guess is that the LTE versions of Surface Pro 8 fail to meet one of those requirements. Probably battery life.
