Surface Pro purchasing advice

I live outside the US and currently use a 2019 Surface Pro 7 (i5/8GB/128GB) with an old SP4 TypeCover.

It’s quiet, handles up to 4 hrs/day typing + browsing (Brave/Firefox, Vimium plugin for limited mouse usage), 

and occasionally connects to a 17 year-old scanner. 

Mostly plugged in, battery cycle count ~185.

Travel light: SP7 is my only PC for 4 weeks/year vacations (plus a keyboard-less iPad).

Since the SP7 is now 6+ years old, I’m looking at a backup/replacement under 1,000:

NOTES:

• SP11 ships without charger (I have USB-C, and assume my SP7 Connect charger will work).
• No SDHC slot.
• Dream: dual-boot Linux someday, but not sure about Snapdragon support.

Any thoughts or alternatives?
