Xbox Series X/S Availability for Holidays

Is there an expectation that retailers will have Xbox Series X/S for holiday purchase? From what I have seen, it seems the preorder has shut down. It seems like some retailers may have some stock on launch day–Nov 10. Is the Series X/S expected to be in very short supply that day and through the end of the year?

Have to admit, I have not been paying too close attention. My son and I talked about it a while back and had decided we weren’t going to move up this year. But recently he started talking about it as something he might add the X to his Christmas wish list. This has me looking around to see if it will even be available.
