Onedrive Security- My Mac can see my family member’s recent docs?!

I have an MS Office family subscription. I have shared this to my wife and 2 children.

I use it on a iMac and a Macbook. The wife and kids use it on a range of Dell XPS, HP and Asus laptops.

Each family member has their own @outlook address, and is signed in with their MS account on their device.

I am signed in with my trusty ol’ @hotmail on my Apple devices. The family accounts have NEVER been signed in on my devices.

In my RECENT DOCS in Word, I can see my children’s recent docs, can open them and edit them. They are NOT shared to me.

I’ve confirmed this is only happening one way, thankfully they cannot see mine.

I’ve confirmed that there are NO shared documents between me and my family members.

I’m concerned as my daughter will be getting a Macbook from school next year, and from other reports on the MS forums, will likely be able to see my documents. This cannot happen, and I will have to disband the MS family.

I’ve seen some other unresolved posts on MS support forums regarding this- does the Mac do something different with the credentials?
