Ads in Skype

Skype has had ads in it for years hasn’t it?

    <p>I use Skype 7 days a week 365 days a year. I never saw an ad in this application until this past Sunday, and you have to think that my eyes are open to this kind of thing. </p><p><br></p><p>I pay for Microsoft 365, of course, so this was either a mistake or they're moving ads into Skype for paying customers now too.</p>

    <p>Adding to the confusion, could this have to do with Skype changing tech platform from React Native to Electron? Skype is such a mess.</p>

    <p>Until now, Skype had ads only if you haven't paid them in some way.</p><p>If you had a Skype to Phone subscription, there were no ads.</p><p>If you had any Pay As You Go balance, there were no ads.</p><p>I have €3.48 balance left from way back, so I haven't seen any ads. Yet. I guess that may change now…</p>
