Creators Update – 2 successes, 1 failure and rollback

Being impatient, I decided to force the update on my Surface Book, old ThinkPad X220, and Dell Inspiron Desktop. All are similarly configured with i5’s of varying generations and 8 GB of RAM. All three run basically the same applications (Office, Acrobat, Chrome, etc.)

The two laptops (Surface Book and ThinkPad X220) upgraded just fine. However, the Dell desktop did not. It restarted and rolled back to 1607. Fortunately, the rollback was without incident and all three PCs are working fine.

I am a little surprised that the roughly 7 year old ThinkPad had no issues with the upgrade, but the 3 year old Dell desktop did.
