Edge "can’t sign you in"

Edge beta on Windows 7. The functionality of logging in to sync is offered. No caveats are mentioned.

I log in. I use the 2-factor authentication. I’m greeted with “Something went wrong. Please try again. [202]”

Of course, this is a 21st century error, so no useful information is given. If I search for this error, I get lots of incredibly useless and out-of-date information that has nothing to do with this situation – just as expected from an internet search for a Microsoft error. I only did it so that I could say honestly that I “did my due dilligence and searched for it” even though I knew I’d find jack all.

So, all that said…

… Of the six people who might be in this situation with Edge Beta on Windows 7… have you seen this?

Are you able to log in successfully and it is having problems with the sync, or you can't log in?

If it's the former, I can only guess that their code for doing account sync is not ready yet on Windows 7, or there is some other strange thing happening on the back end.

If it's the latter, have you tried signing in via an app password? The error might be 2FA related.
