Erratic desktop power management UPS battery since KB5067036

Since installing the latest Windows 11 preview update (KB5067036), I’ve had some erratic behavior with my APC UPS which has been trouble-free until now. With the UPS connected to my PC via USB, it’s seen as a battery so that the PC can respond to power outages. However, since the update it intermittently started seeing a “low battery” condition and putting the PC into hibernation instead of sleep – sometimes while I was using it.

UPS battery is relatively new and shows 100% on the UPS, and passes UPS battery health check.

I tried just rebooting and that didn’t solve the problem (in fact, it went into hibernation while trying to apply a .NET update during restart).

Unplugging the USB cable to the UPS stopped the problem from happening. It had been connected for months/years before, without any problems.

Has anyone else seen this with the update, or seen it happen in the past with Windows 11?

TIA.
