Does anyone know when (or if!) Microsoft plans to support long (e.g. 32k char.) path names in Windows and OneDrive?

Not the clearest of documentation, but https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa365247.aspx does mention 'Tip Starting in Windows 10, version 1607, MAX_PATH limitations have been removed from common Win32 file and directory functions. However, you must opt-in to the new behavior.'

In reply to hrlngrv: I have tried this. But it does not address the fact (I think!) that File Explorer, and thus the OneDrive folder that I access via File Explorer, still do not support long path lengths. So even if you follow the steps you've indicated, I think you still end up with a Windows 10 PC that is effectively limited to file/folder path lengths of about 260 characters.
