Looking for Modern Text Editor

I’m looking for recommendations for a ‘modern’ text editor. In particular, I’m looking for text editor that scales well on a 4K monitor and has spell checking as you type (like Word).

It would also be awesome if it worked like the Win11 version of Notepad where Notepad automatically saves unsaved content when you close Notepad and restores the state when you reopen it.

I’ve tried TextPad and Notepad++. What else should I try?
