“Plugged in” after recent windows updates?

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing weirdness with charging following recent Windows 11 build versions. For example, myy laptop (Surface Laptop 3) slowly charges while plugged in. If I hover over the battery, it no longer says “plugged in, charging”, it just says “plugged in”, and slowly seems to be charging anyway.

My wife’s laptop (a 2 month old basic HP) is showing similar behavior too, except that it still drains while plugged in and using the computer, and in only charges when the laptop is closed.

Could just be coincidence that I’m noticing both issues at the same time? Was considering returning my wife’s laptop when we encountered this, but since I’ve noticed it on my laptop as well I wonder if it’s a Windows issue instead.

Anyone else seeing this? It would be nice to know either way.
