poor mouse focus

Using a wired Logitech basic mouse, and Windows 10-1809, I find that placing the cursor in a text box, for example, has to be spot on with no leeway. In Facebook for example, I want to reply to a post and put the cursor in the reply box and start typing only to find it isn’t there! The cursor is indeed in the box but it needs to be jiggled to get the cursor to appear. Is there some setting to improve on this please? I never used to have this.

Are you sure it's a Windows issue and not a Facebook or browser issue?

The thing is it never used to be a problem. I'm sure I read somewhere about settings for focus sensitivity or similar. Oh and I tried wired and wireless mice.
