Seems there is some kind of bug that has creeped into Defender. For the past several days I can not perform file operations or run any executable from any of my network servers with Explorer. Any executable I try to copy will immediately lock Explorer and I either have to kill it or wait for sometimes minutes for it to respond and most likely it won’t have done what I asked it to do. If I launch an application installer from a server same thing, Explorer will lock up and the installer will maybe run, most likely it will not. Every Windows 11 machine on my network is seemly doing the same thing. The issue is also present when launching an .exe from the command line.
If I turn off all Defender real-time protection then no problem. Any other OS is fine, Linux, MacOS etc. all running at my network’s gig wire speed.
And my network is fine, all tests show it’s running at max speed, no issues.
I just live Windows stability, what would I do without it 🙂
