From a conversation with Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft, on the day of Windows 11 announcement on CNBC, Yusuf stated Windows 11 has the inbuilt capability to send/receive SMS directly through Teams (without the need of a phone).

According to the master of all things Lumia/WoA, Gustave Monce (@gus33000), in relation to Lumia 950 XL running WoA 11, "the component responsible for handling calls is not part of Windows 11. We lift it straight from Windows Phone with bridge components so it kinda works on here".

So WoA 11 cannot do voice calls out-of-the-box.

If my memory serves me well, Microsoft removed the internals of the voice capability is some build during 2019. It would appear from @gus33000 that the voice component is absent in Windows 11.

What is interesting about Windows 11 performance on iOS things like limos 950 or low powered things like raspberry pi and in preview channel lots of old PC – is the 8th gen Intel requirement isn’t about windows 11 performance. Windows 10 was so brilliant running at old hardware even better than windows 7 did. Why this push to keep it of old machines if it isn’t about performance?
