Windows 10 AU network share – folder creation issue

I haven’t seen too much mentioned about this outstanding bug on this site, but wonder if anyone else is affected by it. It’s taking quite a long time to resolve, seems to have broad impact, and materially affects the ability to interact with server-based network shares when the location is indexed on the server (which is required if you are adding the folder to a library):
